Overview
Castleingen was founded durring the late 15th century in spring of the year 1372, by Giant Saw-Toothed Beetles Warwick. The establishment of Castleingen was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Giant Saw-Toothed Beetles Warwick electing to pay people to resettle in Castleingen.
Castleingen was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Castleingen is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Castleingen is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of narrow paverstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Castleingen's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The monster and outlaw focused fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.
Castleingen has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Castleingen ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Likely due to this, Castleingen is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to have homes. One cannot help but wonder what Castleingen was like during the glorydays.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Castleingen's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes
Castleingen's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .
Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is skipped in Castleingen.
The Ettercap near Castleingen are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.
Castleingen's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Augury energies of tier 1 via moments of science.
